Although I'd find it odd, those discs could easily be Made in Taiwan. They don't only sell Japanese-made discs in Japan [see old test of CMC MAG media on the various Japanese testing sites], and it would make sense since [apparently] printable discs only come from Taiwan [unless they're rebadged TYG03 or something like that specifically for the Japanese/Asian market].

The seller did tout the TY as being made in Japan, while the Sony was left out in the cold without an origin given.

yeah, anything is possible,the only info I could find on the sony's was in Japanese. I have MIJ Sony MID 8x, just curious.The TY is also printable.
