Just saw this sale at newegg. It also has free shipping. Is this a good deal? Since i've read people going crazy for the Verbatim sale at BestBuy a while back. Here is the LINK

The DVD+R media is quite good.

The after rebate price is good but rebates are a pain in the ass. I would almost rather pay 35-40$ (thats about how much it was at best buy and micro center recentlly) and pick it up locally than mail order it and wait for the rebate. If you don't mind rebates, it's a good price.

Verbatim constantly offers rebates. The last I sent off took 8-10 weeks before I got the check. It will come, just slow. Excellent media, by the way.

They have the same deal for +R.

I bought one +R spindle from the Amazon deal last month. The figure, price and even the rebate is virtually the same, so I believe it is the same product.

This is my initial test of it (MCC003). In fact, BenQ QScan says this media isn't good for 8x and 12x burn at the end of the disc. Hmm.. it looks like it burns fine even at 12x. But I know some people expect more from the MCC code.

I am not sure about the +R but the -R from newegg is the MCC media code made by CMC. Still OK but not as great a deal as pure MCC. My burns start to rise at the end of the disc. The PI is still below 30 but it is annoying.

Don't know how these newegg verbatim -R will be, but my 100pk from Supermediastore had quite a few with dye defects that showed up after burning. Looked like dark spots with comet like tail radiating towards the disc edge. Unfortunately, I was too anxious and clipped the upc for the rebate before I got a chance to test the media. No upc = no rma through supermediastore. Guess I'll have to contact Verbatim direct.

If you people purchase these -R's, check them out before you clip the upc.

p.s. the 100pk of +R's that I ordered at the same time seem fine.
