I recently bought a pack of the Linkyo printables. The MID is TYG02, which is obviously fake Taiyo Yuden. Works great in my NEC 3500, NEC 6500 and Pioneer 105

I just got some of these before seeing this topic. I thought I heard someone else say they got RitekG05 but I guess not. I got TYG02. I'll be trying them out on my NEC3500 and BenQ1620.

I've always seen "Printable" discs but have always wondered how'd you actually print on them. Need a special printer or something? Or is it those sticky label thing?

You need a printer that can print directly to disc such as the Epson R200 and R300. There are some pricey professional size ones also.

I did one but it didn't look too good. I didn't want to waste any more by trying a bunch different strats for it.

Good question.
I wish I knew. Thats one big thing that holds be back from buying media thats too cheap. What plays good today may not be so good in a few months or years. Hopefully If they are keep out of direct sunlight they will last as long as any other disc.

@Dmagic1 - that burn actually isn't horrible for Fake TY media. If it makes anyone feel better I think the DVD+R's of the 8x Linkyo's are supposed to be OptodiscOR8. I'd trust the OptodiscOR8's over the fake TY's any day of the week, actually have seen some really nice burns from OR8's from a couple of the newer drives.

I finally got around to trying them at 12x on my BenQ1620. I was a little surprised. Never thought my BenQ would do this well on fake TY.

Wow, that's sad... that burns off better than MCC 02RG20's do for me even at 12x. Not a bad burn at all for Fake TY media, hehe.
