CD Freaks Bargain Basement Discuss, I need help finding good, cheap CDRs. at International Chat: General Topics forum; Well, I have tried and I just cannot find any 100s of CDRs around $10-$12 delivered. All I want is something close to CMC (I know but they are OK for what I need) and I don't want any made in China. I guess I will even take

This seems to be a lot harder than it used to be. I used to get these all the time with rebates for the full purchase price but I was a nice guy and gave away too many blanks and I am now running out.

Thanks in advance for the help. I have looked and I just can't find any deals since the Quill HP deal last Summer.

Re: I need help finding good, cheap CDRs.

CD-R deals just don't come along as often as they used to and rarely do you see really great deals. Staples had 30 packs of Imation (Moser Baer) for $2 after rebate around Thanksgiving. Radio Shack has 50 packs of Ritek for $5 after rebate right now, and Circuit City has 50 packs of ESA (CMC) for $7 and 50 packs of TDK (CMC?) for $8. Nothing great, but finding CD-Rs for less is uncommon at this point.

ARITA/RITEK 100 pack 48X CDR CD-R Blank Media
13.79 with free 3 day shipping
I don't know too much about the Arita brand. But I always had good luck with Ritek CD-R's

Re: I need help finding good, cheap CDRs.

Thanks guys. I'll grab the Ritek even with that $10 rebate. Shopampm has just too many negative ratings but their price is tempting.

Any more will be welcome. Those crummy rebates are limited.

In the future, keep your eyes open for good deals on 'after rebate' discs at Staples, their rebates commonly have a limit of 10, and they are also often Easy Rebates so they can be applied for in 10 seconds online.

I rarely ever even burn CD-Rs at this point and I already had a couple hundred, but the Staples discs I mentioned earlier were an easy rebate and a limit of 10. I had a coupon as well so I got 300 CD-Rs for free after rebate.

You are right though that most rebates are a limit of one, although you could always have a couple of rebates filled out under someone else's name.

I saw wallgreens has maxell cd-r data for 8.99 per 50. Sometimes, these places that you don't associate with electronics have pretty competitive prices

If you happen to live near a Fry's, they have 100 for $10 nearly every weekend. Most often Lead Data, but occassionally CMC.

Yo chas 0039-

Have you considered the TY 'Burnmasters' from All Media??

At $.15 to $.19 depending on quanity - seems like a 500 pack would set you up for a good long time-

Bigmike7, that's not a bad price for TY media. But how much is the shipping?

Re: I need help finding good, cheap CDRs.

Thanks guys, I knew you would come through. I got some of the Riteks and will tuck the Burnmaster away for the times I need quality, not cheap. All the Burnmaster TY +R DVD I have bought and I never noticed the CDRs.

Those Fry deals look good, any chance they ever show up on line?

BTW, Allmedia shipping is about the same as Rima. I get hit for $7-$8 for the first 100 to MN.

Much thanks. I just used 50 and got 50 so I am not making progress. I would never have thought of Walgreens. Good old Ripit.

Yo chas0039-

Leave it to my cyber son to find those elusive bargains in the cracks of the cyber vendors AND the brick and morter stores-

Re: I need help finding good, cheap CDRs.

I usally check cvs, walgreens and target. Occationally one of them will have a pretty good deal. I was kind of suprised to see sears advertise sony dvd's last week though. The price wasn't that great (10$ for 25) but it might be worth keeping an eye on their ads. They didn't have anything this week but I'm going to start checking their ad in the future.
