saw this posted. its a pacfic digital dvd-rw. bought one of these a while back. it was a benq, either a 1620 or 1640 (sorry old age has set in). i think that was the only drive that was in the box. don;t know if things have changed tho.

No deal here. Just move along folks. The two packs of Playo will cost you about $55, which is pointless. Yo can just buy a drive for $30 then wait for the Playo to go on sale for nearly free after easy rebate. Once again, no deal. I repeat, no deal.

If it just wasn't Playo discs I'd jump on this deal but I just can't make myself
spend any money on those discs at all even with the free drive included.

Actually, the Playos burn OK for fake MCC media. The +Rs are better than the -Rs, but both seem better than a lot of "real" media out there.

I never said it was a great deal, it was for information only. I fact Playo discs work fine as cheap give away discs for me.

It doesn't really matter now anyway it looks as if the deal has ended
it would probably have been a pretty good deal if as cmisenko said he
received a BenQ in the box so it would have been a decent deal with
a BenQ drive in the box but who knows what kind of drive would have
been in the box this time.

I don't think it would have been a good deal even then. I love my BenQs, but $55 or $60 for a 1620 or 1625 and some MIC disks is not really the best use of your money.

Yep since I've thought about it I do believe you are right even with a BenQ drive
in the box it would still be a waste of money unless a person could sell the discs
to a newb on ebay or somewhere like that and recover the original amount paid
for the discs and still keep the drive.
