CompUSA Midnight Madness Sale:

An email notice arrived but they don't have this ad online at http://www.compusa.com/adproducts/de...sp?cmid=topnav

The email only had a picture and I don't have access to posting it online from this machine. If this message board accepts pictures, I don't know how to upload it (sorry). The picture only states the hours and time. There is a graphic of a miniturized ad of the sale items, but it is too small to read. I'd love to see the ad ahead of the sale if anyone has it.

really!? I thought the $60 sata drive 250gb looked good. I personally don't like maxtor drives though.

Maxtor? YUCK!!!!!! They used to be pretty good but within the last year or two they have been "so-so" at best.

Maxtor is the best company when comes to honoring the warrenty. I have nothing but good thing using Maxtor drives and when needed using their warrenty.

i don't doubt their great service, but I expect to not to have to use a warranty that frequently...and when I used maxtor drives I was certainly getting my money's worth out of their warranty.

i switched to strictly seagate and I haven't had a problem in years.

could just be my luck. people can have different experiences, but while they WERE good with backing up their product, the product wasn't that great to begin with.

Yup, although you do have to keep an eye on HD companies. They seem to go through cycles. I know a guy who had 4 Seagates in a row go bad on him but that was 5 years ago. As for Maxtor, that is just like Hyundai and their 100,000 mile warranty. While the 100,000 mile is a big perk, it sure isn't worth it if you have to use it all the time. I've had rotten luck with Maxtor and Western Digital but great luck with Seagate.
