cdr deals?

anybody know of good deals for 100pack cdr? specifically... most economical yet quality? I have a Liteon 40x cdrw. I am new here, so I hope I won't get flamed for a stupid question like this. Being it is the first time I post... Thanks in advance!

www.cddimensions.com has Taiyo Yuden 40X CDRs (one of the best on the market)... 100 discs for $30. They're a bit more, but most people swear by them. Much better manufacturing standards and quality control.

LiteOn released a new firmware for your drive... be sure you know which drive you have before clicking on the link and installing it.

Link for 40125S

Link for 40125W

Nothing wrong with being a noob. Everyone was one @ one time or another.

Since you live in the US, check your Sunday paper for the weekly ads from stores in your area. Office Depot, Office Max, Best Buy, Circuit City, Staples, and CompUSA have tons of rebates for dirt cheap media. Most of the time it's CMC, which I have had no problems with lately, but I think Best Buy has a deal on FujiFilm now, which is Taiyo (with the screw-top spindle).

Fuji is carried @ Best Buy... made by Taiyo Yuden. ~$24 for 50. It's rated @ 32X but runs quite well @ 40X... even 48X.

Trust me, you don't want to go cheap on your media. LiteOn's are picky drives when it comes to CDRs... better quality you put in, less errors and greater compatibility you get.

As Farad said, look for the screw top on the top of the spindle. That's a dead giveaway that it's made by Taiyo Yuden.

Look @ this link and you'll see what we're talking about.

I've had bad luck with Memorex 40X media produced by CMC.

Best Buy currently has the 100-pack Memorex CD-Rs on sale for $9.99 after 2 rebates ($29.99-$10-$10) until Saturday. If you can find the 32X spindle, not 24X, then you'll notice that they are made in Japan, presumably by Taiyo Yuden. They are the cheapest quality discs for this week.

Did you look in our very own CDFreaks shop? Don't know if it's worth it to let them send overseas but you sure can try. Just mail StevieC to find out!

The cd's are of topquality, I use them myself as well! Another extra is that you sponsor CDFreaks when you buy from the shop!
