Big Canadian Deal Thread!

Hi! I was thinking for a while of creating a bargain thread similar to the one for Australia. I mean, it is colder up here but still above 20 which is OK for burning So I hope this thread thrives and here is my first contribution for Toronto and the area.
1. Fresh staples.ca flyer fragment with Sony DRU820A (Benq 1670?) on special as well as some media.
2. At canadacomputers.com they have Litey 160 series for just 35.50
3. Natural TY 100 pack for $28 plus change at blankmedia.ca

Re: Big Canadian Deal Thread!

There is a new package of Memorex DL on sale for $13:http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/subcla...EN&catid=20032
This makes it $1.3 per disk.
I wonder whether it is the same cheap Ritek D01 or not..
Cheers

Re: Big Canadian Deal Thread!

Future Shop sells 25-packs of Philips-branded CMC MAG D04 [8x +R DL media] for $29.99, beginning today... that's $1.20 Canadian, or about $1.07 US per disc.

[I've bought a pack but won't be able to properly test them until I get back home.]

Well, BenQ DW1655 failed to burn CMC MAG D04 at 4x... stopped with an error at about 1/3 of layer 0.

But Lite-On 165P6S did much better, at 8x. Here's the quality scan:

Re: Big Canadian Deal Thread!

BTW can anyone suggest me where to buy 8x DVD+RW or 6x DVD-RW by piece, not in cake boxes? I'm just tired of 4x burning..
Thanks in advance.

For those in the Greater Vancouver area, NCIX has a great deal on the Verbatim DL if you don't mind MIR:

Re: Big Canadian Deal Thread!

HUGE $ 250 price drop on Toshiba HD-A30 with HDMI 1.3
On the printed catalogue it comes with two movies. Whatever is the future of the format, for 200 bucks you can use it as a decent upconverter.
