I talked with a guy at the local BB in DFW area in Texas and he said their ad this weekend would say something about minimum of 20 XBox 360s per store. He said they do expect a line Sunday AM to get them. Store opens at 8am I think... If I find myself incredibly bored late Saturday and not too sleepy, I may go see if there is a line...

Not sure if this is just DFW, TX area or wider spread... For that matter the guy telling me this was sort of an oddball so I'll beleive it when I see it.

Coming fresh off the apology of North American Retail President Brian Dunn, a leaked insider document from Best Buy allegedly shows that the company is purposely stock-piling 360 consoles to sell on December 18th.

Some BB stores - not all - on XBox360 release date forced people to buy bundles instead of just the systems. BB corporate came out and appologized for that, said they'd take back any unwanted stuff purchased as part of a bundle and said it wasn't corporate policy to do that. There were a few articles about that situation.

As far as stockpiling to sell on 12/18, well that sort of makes sense - maybe they got a few in this week - why sell them to the random dumb-lucky customer who happens to be there on that day? Why not put it in the ad on Sunday "we have XBox 360s, 20 per store" and get them out consistently, evenly, and without forcing anyone to buy bundles (which they will NOT do again - that was a PR fiasco.)

They don't make a habbit of price gouging - if you want to see that, go look for 360s on EBay.

If they are selling them for the same price on the 18th as they would be today it makes no sense to me why they would stock pile them.

Whatever it's overpiced anyway.....

same in Chula Vista, I went to get some Sony TY media and there was a line of about 50 people waiting for them to open in the morning. Poor people the temp is going to get down into the high 30's tonight. And that is dam cold for Southern CA

My roommate works at Best Buy, his store is getting about 60 in (Braintree, MA). At 6pm there were about 20 people in line.

The BB on Rte 9 had about 50 or so people sleeping in line. The first person was waiting there for two days. People were pitching tents.
