Yup, upon doing a random check I found the Toshiba A30 for a whopping $200 with the 10 free deal still going. Scroll down and you will see the 10 free HD-DVD titles promotion. For those of you who bought one in the last 30 days be sure to contact Amazon and get it pricematched to the current price. Not sure how long it will last so act quickly.

just before your 30 days purchase date expires
send an email to Amazon CS and tell them you want a PM and give them a any figure ie 50% of original cost

Nope not worth it for a used or refurb since you don't get any movies. As mentioned above the price fluctuates and you need to act right at that given moment. I also posted it since as mentioned above by me and zaq they will PM it if you contact them so this could also help out those who purchased an A30 in the last 30 days.

Amazon is really good at misleading advertizing, and even sending used items when they are advertized as new. Happened to me twice and I'll never buy from them again...

No go, $250, my folks want one since I bought them a 50" plasma screen. Now they want everything that can output HD. My dad is over 70 yrs old and I got him hooked into electronic gadgets, now he really wants an HD player. I need a good sale quick.

The A3 with 10 free is still just under $180 at Amazon.

I'll wait for the A30 or A35 if I want to do 7.1

Should we return our players we just bought?

Warner's giving themselves until the end of May before dropping HD-DVD. That's plenty of time for them to change their minds.

And over 75% of blue-ray hardware sold are PS3. So basically they did not sell a lot of stand alone blue-ray players. Going blue-ray exclusive meanings the market is gonna be flooded with blue-ray movies with no buyers

Saw that. Man am I upset about this. I don't know whether to send my player back and go with Blu-Ray or not.

At $99 I don't care. I have a nice high end DVD player for the spare room. That is why I could not go over $99 at this time. With the free movies it was almost free. LOL
Again I shop the sales and BRs can be had cheap if you wait for the $9.99 sales. Sony has 4 brand new BR stamping plants in the US and that is what converted me from the start. The big bad boy Sony is in this for the long haul. LOL

yeah, for $99 is a steal even you only use it as a DVD player. It does a much better job than those upsample Samsung or Sony players because those still have macros and the upsample quality, you still see blocks. The Toshiba is a great upsampling player, no macros, vivid color quality and no blocky pixels.

At $100 I wouldn't think about getting rid of it but at $180 with a full refund option available to me? Sorry, the player is going back and I will let them all decide what happens. That combined with the fact that I have an Oppo Digital DV-981 that can more than handle all of the basic functions. I really wish I had bought an A2 at that price and then I wouldn't be in this perdicament.

Did you open up Bourne Identity and 300 that came with the player? What will Amazon do if those are opened? What about the other "free" HD-DVDs that were part of the 10(12)-free that have been opened? What if the upc has already been sent to Toshiba? It would be helpful to keep us updated on your experiences in returning your player.

I am really torn whether to return mine.
