Ahhh, I missed the online sale of these drives. I would've probably ordered 1 myself, they are definitely listed as in-store only now. Oh well, I just ordered those TY 4x DVD-R's for $25.99 for a 100 pack so I can't complain. I got my deal of the week.

I picked up two of these drives. Too good a deal even if I do not need all that space right now. 1/2 TB for under $220 with tax out the door. No rebates needed.

I picked up 2 of them this morning also. They had about 100 on the racks. Thinking about going back this morning and picking up 2 more, but I would like to go with SATA in the near future. There is also talk on other forums that you can price match with Best Buy and get an additional 10% off. Something to think about.

Just pickup one this morning, I was very happy, and I found out if you sign up for free AOL for three month, they will give you $15 off, which I did. So final cost for 250 GB hard drive, $85 no rebates. I have broadband internet service so I will be canceling AOL in two months so I wont forget.

I don't like the 1 year warranty. I'd rather go with the Seagate 120GB 8MB with 5 yr warranty for $50. You're not going to see much gain between 8MB and 16MB cache.

how u get it at best buy did u print the add ? cause i dont get that paper here closet comp usa is 150 miles from my place but Best buy only 5 miles

I bought today because I could use the extra room, but also because it seems like a nice deal.

I tried to price match at my Best Buy (also 5 miles away, College Station, TX) by printing the CompUSA webpage, but they only match "local" competition, and a store 60 miles away (Houston, TX) doesn't count.

So I ordered two online for in-store pickup and will be in Houston Saturday anyway, so voilà. Best Buy could of had my money.

Oddly enough, the Office Depot next door price matches CompUSA when I asked. The clerk said the even match Fry's! Wow. Too bad OD didn't carry that specific drive. They only have the 300GB model.

You can never have Too Much hard disk space so when a deal comes around that is too good to miss you go for it. Now if only we get deals like that in the UK...

Went to CompUSA today and the only set aside 1 drive for me, not two like I ordered online Grrrr. And the Best Buy I visited to price match were all out of most Maxtor drives.

Oh well, I saved $100...
