For the built-in tuner yes. It is capable of 1080i though. A couple of 1080i channels come through and it automatically adjusts to that 720 or 480 - whatever the signal is.

I don't know. I added it to my cart and it showed up as $539.99. Stood in line for 7 hours to get it for $480.
