WMA bitrate - Club CDFreaks

i have got a few wma files over here which seem to run at 87kbps and take
about the size of mp3, is it the standard for wma?

Windows Media Player 9.0, Tools/Options/CopyMusic, has options to set different bit rates and even allows a lossless compression. Both .wma and .mp3 files can vary in size depending on the chosen bit rate when converting. I don't know what the "standard" is but it's possible that your files were converted at the "default" bit rate......
