Re: Whats a good program for burning AC3's?

If you have Nero, add the AC3 plugin from http://neroplugins.cd-rw.org

For anything else, I'd suggest decoding them to wav in advance

oh great I'll try that plug in. Thank you so much!!!!

If I convert them to wav won't they lose quality and their surround abilities?

What are you trying to do with them?

If you are putting them to a standard Audio CD, then they have to render down to 2 channells.

It's beyond my expertise, but the other way to handle them would be to combine them with a slide show on DVD, but the result could only be played on a DVD player.

Re: Whats a good program for burning AC3's?

sorry taking so long to get back to you.

I tried the AC3 plug in for Nero and Nero just shuts down whenever I try to burn the AC3's.

I'm trying to out them on a standard audio CD. How do I render them down 2 channels?

thanks for your help!

Re: Whats a good program for burning AC3's?

http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.ph...ight=headac3he - one transcoder that can do it - Headac3he

http://ac3filter.sourceforge.net - a versatile AC3 decoder - though to het to wav, you'd have to go through the file writer plugin of a player such as winamp, or lay it out with Graphedit.

Another one I was thinking of, a very versatile transcoder - GX:Transcoder
http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/1041539980/1
http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multime...anscoder.shtml
It's a pretty chunky program - the other approach is with Besweet and Besweet GUI

Did you install the other plugin (multichannel wav) - that may enable the simple Nero method.
- just checked, and with only the Nero AC3 plugin in the specified directory (for my Nero 6.3), I downloaded a sample AC3 clip, - not a valid format before adding the plugin, able to add, play, and burn (to image recorder) after.

The AC3Filter gives you a lot of control - the LFE channel, you can drop or mix through, as LFE may be below the capability of standard speakers or headphones, and removing it may give extra headroom for the rest.
