Weird Cuesheet Problem

I am a relative newbie when it comes to cuesheets but I'm in need of a way to place an audio track that begins before zero. I've seen this done on a few commercial CDs and am interested in how this would be accomplished.

From what I can tell, it is one track that crosses over zero, the start of which can only be accessed by skipping the CD backwards manually. When the CD is placed in a normal CD player, it would begin playing from zero, and the "hidden" section would remain unheard.

I'm obviously not sure if this is correct but would appreciate any help anyone can give me.

It's the index0 in track 1.

You can do it with a cuesheet easily:

Code:
FILE "disc.wav" WAVE
  TRACK 01 AUDIO
    INDEX 00 00:00:00
    INDEX 01 00:45:00
This would make a track with a hidden zone of 45 seconds. (The tracks start at index1)

You can do it even easier witout cuesheets with a program like Feurio!
Open Track Editor and select "Set special index 0 marker".

Thanks a lot!
I got it to work, but am i right that it's not airtight because certain old players will error, and others will just play index 00 anyway. or am i doing it wrong?

That's my experience too.
But I don't have an original disc with a hidden track to compare.

Does the original disc with hidden track work in players that can't read you home made CD?

I can extract it with the Plextor drive but not with the LG burner.
I think it's the same doing with a cuesheet or with Feurio...

Of course, I suppose you mean that it doesn't work when you rewind...
