| Split Tracks from Music Choice (à la AudioJack)? I subscribe via cable to Music Choice, a digital music service. I have no problem simply recording the music to the hard drive as long MP3 files. (I do 10-hour unattended recordings.) But it would be nice to have software that would automatically split a single 10-hour MP3 music file into its individual tracks. Something similar to what AudioJack does for Internet radio would be great. I obviously can do it manually in audio editing programs, such as Cool Edit, but it's very time-consuming to do so for every 10-hour file. I know there are programs that try to detect silence between songs as a way to split files into tracks. I'm not sure if that will work in this case because many of the Music Choice songs are cross-faded. Thanks for any help you can provide. |

| Re: Split Tracks from Music Choice (à la AudioJack)? I have used AudioJack before and was not pleased with the results. It would often chop the beginning or end of hthe song. Another program: StationRipper. There are many radio stations from Shoutcast here, and others around the world. This one also chopped the beginning of songs, but not as often as AudioJack. I'm from the United States, and it seemed that there were tons of stations from France, Italy and other countries. I'm just not interested in their Top40 hits. There also seemed to be a lot of Trance/Techno music - not my thing. The best: ReplayMusic. http://www.replay-music.com/ This one records from RealRhapsody, Napster Radio, MusicMatch Radio, and any other radio station you want to type in. I pay the $9.95 for RealRapsody because I can get what I want on demand. The delivered bit-rate is somewhere between 192-320. ReplayMusic has never chopped a song yet, after about 50 recordings. The program could not get the Tag Info for about 5 songs and listed these as "Unrecoganized Track". I consider 5 out of 50 pretty good. The down side to ReplayMusic. You pay $30 for the program. After 5000 songs you have to repay another $30. It is actually a good business model, but as a consumer, it pisses me a bit. But then again - 5000 songs! That is a lot. My total music collection so far is 5100 songs! I can't imagine me taking in another 5000! Anyway, I hoped this information helped! |
