Audio Discuss, Speeding up EAC, when ripping cactus at International Chat: Software related forum; Hi! When backing up Cactus-protected cd`s, EAC may take 2 or more hours to rip the cd-image. Read speeds anywhere between 0.2x and 0.7x are common. What does CloneCD do different, when it can read the entire image at about 10x? Is it C2-error

Speeding up EAC, when ripping cactus

Hi!

What does CloneCD do different, when it can read the entire image at about 10x? Is it C2-error correction that is so time consuming in EAC? Can I tweak settings in EAC to speed it up too?

Rip’em in burst mode, but remember to lower the read speed to 4X.
