| Normalise? Ok, I have been converting alot of audio for DVD. I have been encoding to MPEG2 audio. What I want is for the audio to be a good volume. I have found that using GoldWaves "Match" function and setting it to -18Db works great, with all the audio files coming out on adverage the same volume. Problem is that then I have to use foobar to downmix and resample the DTS/AC3 files, and then load the file with GoldWave, is there a "Match" feature in foobar2000 that would allow me to set the desired output adverage Db? Oh, and do you know is PPHS or SSRC resampling is better? Ben

| Re: Normalise? Yes, Foobar can average-out the levels on a collection of audio files. It's a known concept called "replaygain". I'm not sure, however, if it can be properly applied to DTS/AC3 because I'm not sure if it absolutely has to be tagged to the file or if the replaygain data can be made externally. As far as PPHS vs SSRC... SSRC is better. If I remember properly, I think PPHS is supposed to be slightly inferior to SSRC but takes less CPU time. |
