Why would you want to use such a retarded format as TwinVQ ?

For bitrates around 96kbps OGG Vorbis is the absolute king.

And answering your question...
I don't know, where to find this player.
Go to www.hydrogenaudio.org and search for vqf*

well, i do not know how to burn cd audio using OGG as the source, cuz what i know nero wont burn OGG to Audio CD

yet, Vqf ( with my poor hearing, or not ) is better than MP3 and also MP3Pro. If i burn a Vqf to Audio, then the result is that the sound wont break when i turn the volume to the high level. not like MP3/Pro will break the sound

Winamp may have a vqf plug in.
I used a program called Kjofol to listen to my vqf files, but that program, as far as I know, is no longer in development

yes i know that Winamp has the VQF plug in, but in this new VQF 2++ format, still the old plug in wont play the file....

as far as i know, only nero it self that can play the file....well, far more better than MP3/Pro....and maybe Ogg....at Vqf 2++ 128 Kbps

You can convert OGGs to WAVs using WinAMP's diskwriter plugin.

Or using something else. Check this thread for a nice, nifty OGG tool : http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/...&threadid=3019

Use quality setting, not bitrate setting.
q4 is going to give you files with avarage bitrate at 128 kbps and great sound quality. WAY better than any normal MP3.

OGG is going to get hardware support soon. There will be portables and stuff.
VQF2 is gonna die. That's something to keep in mind, I think.

Vqf gonna die?? I think not. Vqf is gonna release the 192 Kbps. It's just a matter of time to release the player. If you use Nero, please try to convert from a CD / Wav and listen. It's even better than 320 Kbps MP3

Ogg's in other hand, I can't convert it into an audio CD, so i have to convert it into WAV....I guess I'll be waiting for Nero to support Ogg

Well

First off - make some mp3 using this command line : lame --alt-preset standard
Then compare it to VQF@192 kbps and se e what sounds better. On normal music VQF may sound equally good, but on some more complicated and difficult to encode signals, VQF will not sound that well. MP3s made with above command line will still sound good.

As for MP3@320 kbps vs VQF@192 kbps :
use --alt-preset insane and youl'll se how GOOD 320 kbps MP3 sounds. Sadly, a lot of 320kbps MP3s one can find in the inet are really just transcodes from 128 kbps.

OGG is a totally patent-free solution, and REAL have already begun to cooperate with OGG creators to use this format in their software. Maybe in REAL Player Two ?

OGG is free to use and given that, it WILL gain a lot of support. I don't think that's gonna hapen to VQF. Really.

wow...you raise up a long long long time post...

sadly, the only available VQF 2 Player is Nero Mix. me too, has given up VQF 2 and change to the magnificent VBR Ogg Vorbis ( Marius, yer right ) and Musepack. I fell in love when the first time I hear Ogg Vorbis played my favourite song in Q4 (CVS) and Q5 (Garf Tuned). I hardly tell the difference between the sound quality in WAV and the Q10 of Ogg!

MP3?

Ogg is the best!

VQF -> Dead
