nero recode 2

Hi Everyone...

this topic may have been discussed before i did try searching for it but was unable to find what i was looking for, thus why i am now asking this question....

i am trying to recode my movie trailers into nero digital, all seems to work except the audio level is way too low no matter if the source was 5.1 or only 2 channels

after putting my speakers all the way up its fine, but not appropriate as i have forgotten to place them down once and let me just say did i get a fright when i began to play a game....

is there an update or a patch to fix this problem...

i have googled it and many others are having the same problem...

i tried the reg patch dword=AC3PCMScaleFactor with a value of '0', this worked there was no sound after encoding...
so then i tried it with the value of 128 hex and then 256 hex but there seems not to be any change in volume level and it is still lower than the original vob file (used dvd shrink)

i tired even to bump up the value to 400hex 1024decimal and still the same output and not loud enough or close to the original

i encode the sound using nero recode 2 using LC 192 @44100

the thing is i have downloaded some of the movie trialers from the nero website and the sound from their trialers are awesome and loud and after looking at the onscreen display of the details of both my encoded and their encoded movies there are the same except theirs is MUCH louder than mine... this makes no sence

so can any help....

thanks in advance

joe

Re: nero recode 2

Why is Nero Recode 2 "crappy". Please be specific

Doesn't to two step encoding of a DVD to a DVD using Nero Recode 2 give the best quality out there ?

Re: nero recode 2

No, it doesn't.

Read on videohelp or doom9 and you'll find out what tools are really the best.
