need help on winamp cddb

Hello

anyone know how to get the winamp to auto recognise the track title ?

i have updated the proxy addr and also enabled the gracenote(in CD_in plugin), but it only shows "initialising' then 'success', but the title still not updated

i am using winamp v5.03, EAC is able to work using the same CD, so dont think its the CD or pc problem

Re: need help on winamp cddb

the only thing i could find was in preferences -> general preferences -> media library. the portion about the metadata, but im not sure thats what i thought it was when i started typing this. something is apparently telling it to display the filename instead of the imported data. THATS WHAT I WAS THINKING. sorry. in the metadata options, there is something about importing data....

also, i thought winamp accessed the cddb on its own, without plugs. eac is generally configured to use freedb, isnt it?

Re: need help on winamp cddb

winamp use gracenote, while EAC use freedb
winamp access to cddb is thru the input plugin module (CD_in or something similiar)
u can enable or disable the gracenote under the plugin config,

Re: need help on winamp cddb

Can anyone tell me maybe..

i am a newbie with this somewhat:

often Winamp finds (automatically when placing CD in the tray.. - or later on - manually) the CD info (via CDDB) , while few other software (including Easy CD-DA) .. searches via freedb and doesn't find the Info.

Can one make say Easy CD-DA to search via CDDB, if needed (same as Winamp basically) or not?

And if so - how?
Some specific address to use, etc?
