Audio Discuss, Hum at International Chat: Software related forum; I have my PC connected to the Hi-Fi via RCA jacks from the AUX out and recording music to CDs - I have a loud hum in the speakers - any suggestions how to get rid of it - I just noticed it today and have not had it in the past.

Hum

The HUM apparently is in the TV output. I disconnected the line progressively from the computer back to the TV until it stopped and the TV output is where the HUM stopped. I tried the other output and it HUMed as well. Yes I have a HUM over the Hi-Fi speakers as well.

Try unplugging the TV's antenna and/or rotate the power cable 180 degrees (if possible) at the power outlet.

maybe it's too much line noise (110V - poluted earth wire etc) affecting the system - try another power outlet. It can be a defective pwr supply as well.
If u r on a ups disconnect it and try again.
