How to extract or clone a CD protected w\ CDS200.0.4 3.0 build 12b!!!

I have a CD protected w\ CDS200.0.4 3.0 build 12b.

My cd player reads it with some player wich is installed when i insert the cd.

Does anyone know how i can rip this?

I tried something that got me near a solution i think, but ultimately did not work: i covered de 2nd session on the cd w\ some white tape and it no loger shows a player folder when i explore the cd. instead it looks just like a normal audio cd, but when i try to copy the tracks to disk, or convert them to mp3 it says it can't read from the disk and can't copy those files....

I'm begining to feel a little desperate here! does any one have a clue or sugestion?

i'm going to try to simply clone it and see if it works...

if you have some ideas, dont hesitate to share'em ok?

thanks!

The solutions was right there!!

Ok, the cd is burned!!!

Actually the tape i put on top of second ring of the cd worked just fine when i copied the cd on easycd creator.

Ño problems at all!!!

I fully recomend this solution to anyone w\ a similar problem. Instead of the pen trick, that can damage a cd the tape is harmless.

Thanx for your interest! i coundn't have done this without reading all the stuff i read in this forum!!

Hope this solution works for you to.

what about the little trick of recording it with CoolEdit or TotalRecorder? I once recorded a 2 hour live streaming RealMedia radio concert on my 56k modem, and it's great. Unless you have a new Audigy sound card that will not let you do that...

The problem with tape is that it might get loose when the cd is spinning... I would recommend the use of a velt tip pen (erasable black marker).

Btw: read the sticky thread mention as last option in my signature for tips on auto-insert notification. This might be the reason why you need the tape-trick instead of just reading it normally...

rip without marker or tape

This worked for me:

Read the CD with Liteone 48125W with firmware VS08 (VS06 does not work). Toshiba 1512 does not work eather.

After that you can rip with Musicmatch Jukebox. Various programs like Nero can burn a CD without copyprotect and with CD-tekst after deleting the data tracks from the image.

To my surprise copies made with CloneCD 4 have a lot of issues like dropouts and distorted sounds.

PS
Up till now my LiteOn reads every audio CD copyprotection I came across (also Key2Audio).

@RedRooster:

48125W/VS08 and now also 40125S/ZS0P support reading of Cactus 200, so it is no problem of course.

When using drives that are good for reading a certain audio protection, then there is never a problem. It only gets difficult if the wrong drive is used.

Well,

I have the 40125S, and i flashed it with the newest firmware update, and that worked. But when i have the cd Marco Borsato - Onderweg, with Cactus protection inserted into the CD-RW, he reads with no problem the 16 tracks. But when i click it to play, or when i want to copy it, there are problems. When i save the tracks into .wav or .mp3 files, it become silent tracks...???

And Clone CD reads an image file of this cd in just a couple of seconds, with the result an "empty" image. It keeps skipping the sectors, when i look into the log file ... ???? What do i wrong ??

This could be Cactus 100. ZS0P firmware can't read Cactus 100. You're quite close to Germany, so that disc could be equipped with the same protection as Peter Maffay - Tabaluga und das verschenkte Glück, which I could not rip in any drive (Cactus 100 V3)

I have the same prob with -- according to TCCD Scout -- a Cactus Data Shield 200 cd......so, it's probably an improved version...

I'll download TCCD and check if it can detect Cactus 100 at all...

Copy protections detection programs like Cloney XXL or TCCD scout are good (?) in detecting data copy protections but are bad in detecting audio protections... When your drive has a hard time in detecting/reading the cd, Cloney or Scout has problems to determine the protection... for example: because it can't access the disk.

TCCD indeed detects Cactus 100 on my disc.
Doc.lok. is however not detected.

That's true, but if using TCCD, this changes when you put the disc in a drive that can "handle" that specific audioprotection......Seems that TCCD is much more accurate than all Cloney versions to determine audioprotections......

Hello,

I just wanted to say, that my Lite On DVD player now CAN play the cd from Marco Borsato with no problems at all. It just shows the .cda tracks in explorer, and winamp can play them normally, just like a normal cd.

Hardware: JLMS XJ-HD165H

Firmware : I downloaded the newest firmware for this DVD player, it's from Dec 2002 (CH0Z i guess )
