The easy way around all of this is a "professional" standalone recorder, which will accept all CD-R and CD-RW discs, as does this Tascam: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc...ack_Mount.html Or buy an M-audio 2496 sound card for your desktop computer. It's only $$$$.
