Firmware support makes the difference...

Re: How to burn MP3 on DVD to play it in DVD player?

I use Nero to make mp3 DVDs. My cheapo vcr/dvd combo player wont play the mp3 if its in mp3pro form (80 kbps). So I make sure its at 128 to 192 kbps. I get about 60 albums on one dvd at about 160 kbps.

Re: How to burn MP3 on DVD to play it in DVD player?

80kbps is too low for almost any standalone.

hi,converted mp3 with dvd santa,it played with power dvd but only played one song and stopped, I was thinking if you joined the mp3s together in one big mp3 file you could convert using dvd santa. it might play on a standalone dvd player

Re: How to burn MP3 on DVD to play it in DVD player?

I've used the RecordNow! software that came with my HP DVD burner HP 530i and have had no problems burning MP3s to DVD (HP 8x DVD-R) and then playing them in the player I mentioned earlier in this thread.

Re: How to burn MP3 on DVD to play it in DVD player?

Go out n spend some cash on a cheep DVD Player that plays EVERYTHING..Then you'll be able to play a DVD full of MP3s without Complaining....Simple in it!
My DVD player only cost me £34 n plays DVD-R MP3s..Won't play Div-X though..Wouldn't want to either...

Re: How to burn MP3 on DVD to play it in DVD player?

I've got a question off the back of this. I've got a Pioneer DV585A and although I'm annoyed that it won't random play MP3's it sounds very good. I've noticed recently that if I create folders on a CDR to mirror the way I organise them on my hard disk, ie a folder per artist, then below that one folder for each album by that artist that I want to burn, the Pioneer will sometimes play them, sometimes it will just skip over them. I'm not aware of doing anything different when I burned the "players" and the "skippers" but I'd like to have a foolproof method of burning MP3 discs.

Can anyone point me in the right direction please? Thanks!

Burn slower, that is the key.

Re: How to burn MP3 on DVD to play it in DVD player?

Chef - I was using Sonic RecordNow 7 on an IBM Thinkpad T41.

I read your advice and set the burn speed to 4x and the file system to ISO+Joliet (106 character file names) and DAO (closed) and ISO Mode 1. The Pioneer now reads everything.

Fantastic - many thanks!

I would love an answer for this.
Please tell me there is a way, these 80 min CD-R's are just not big enough for my music to play in my car.

IF YOUR CD PLAYER IS NOT DVD DISK COMPATIBLE IT IS NOT GOING TO PLAY ANY MEDIA FORMAT RECORDED ON IT. MOST MP3 PLAYERS NOW-A-DAYS CAN RECOGNIZE
CD-Rs CD-RWs DISKS. CHECK YOUR USER'S MANUAL FOR COMPATIBILITY OF DISKS.

Please fix the caps-lock key.
A "cd player" cannot read any dvd media.
