Using the prepaid card for subscriptions is always a good move as many of these companies can be hell to cancel.

Re: How to burn or crack protected WMA files?

allofMP3.com is not a monthly subscription site. You just pay for MB of downloads and you can DL in OGG and MP3 at different bitrates. If you choose 320kbps, you will obviously get fewer songs than at 192kbps.

I have no problem using my card anywhere on the 'net. All cards afford you protection, so if there is something suspicious, call your card issuer and they will take care of it.

In 8 years of using them online, I have never had any of my cards compromised.

Re: How to burn or crack protected WMA files?

Many card providers offer a "one time" account number for online purchases. Something to look into.

many cards provide a zero liability too. could be mor eof a headache than the other methods though.

Re: How to burn or crack protected WMA files?

Well i've been on this forum for awhile and it's safe to say that Acoustica MP3 to WAVE converter works perfectly for DRM protected Napster files converted to unprotected mp3 files. Only issue is it doesn't save track information (just like Virtousa).

The program can be downloaded here: http://www.bronch.com/downloads/acou...-installer.exe

Note: build verison is 17 not 15 or 16. build 17 is the version everyone should be using (19 has the "fix" not allowing DRM protected files to be converted anymore).

It's only a matter of time before this program looses its DRM license just like Virtousa did (rendering Virtousa useless) so use this program as much as you can now.

Also note this program only lets you encode 6 times before requiring registration. Fixes are out there for this, but it's against Forum policy to post such links, so I wont.

I think acoustic is no longer working. I believe they have "fixed" the problem.

Re: How to burn or crack protected WMA files?

Revhh,
Same issue here.

I now receive a dialog... when trying to convert:

"'C:\Documents and Settings\BillyBob\My Documents\My Music\Artist Name - Song Name.wma' may have anti-copy Digital Rights Management (DRM) system embedded in it and, thus, cannot be converted. Alternatively, it could be a corrupted file. (You just gotta laugh...PS: This silly dialog just might be eligible for the backspace of PC Magazine!)"

Re: How to burn or crack protected WMA files?

Looks like Acoustica has stopped working for me. Both on files downloaded weeks ago and some today. Was using version b15.

Argh. This was working nicely

Re: How to burn or crack protected WMA files?

Just so everyone knows I was using the method in earlier posts and it was working as of yesterday. I think they have fixed this. I redid everything and still getting the message that skidmark posted about the drm. I trust you smart ones out there will figure something out..

Re: How to burn or crack protected WMA files?

According to Acoustica's web site, as of today, they have removed DRM capability completely from their MP3 to WAVE converter. So doesn't look like there is any way to get this method to work. On to the next one...

Re: How to burn or crack protected WMA files?

can you verify that works coolguy? I doubt it would since Acoustica needs to access the internet to verify the license.

FYI: There is a reference to b15 at google - search, wave b15 - it references acoustica wave converter.

Re: How to burn or crack protected WMA files?

Using b15, and lame 3.97a10 from:
http://www.free-codecs.com/Lame_Encoder_download.htm

Still working with new V d/ls

I will add that sometimes it stalls out decoding a batch, but I've found that the files it stalls on are corrupt and stall out while playing in WMP too.

Re: How to burn or crack protected WMA files?

using an old version or newer version of LAME shouldnt matter. Acoustica fails earlier than the "re-encode" process (which is where LAME comes into play).

Re: How to burn or crack protected WMA files?

Hmm, that meay be, but my settings posted earlier are workin right this second. Maybe I have the Muystery version ov Acc..... that is immune to DRM?

BTW My Internet access is open, so no issues with Acc..... using the net.

Knock on wood for me and Best of luck to the rest of you.
