Anybody know what the problem here is? Do I need to download a different version of the program or something?
You obviously didn't read this thread, so go back and do so

Any different from someone getting .mp3 file extensions out the other end?

The full proof way to test it is to try it on another computer that doesn't have the license (or preferably doesn't even have Napster installed) that way you know it worked. If you don't have another computer maybe you can send it to someone and have them try to listen to the mp3.

Your response to Joe was inappropriate. He's done alot of great work in helping everyone figure this out (so have you). Joe if I knew the answer, personally I would post it for you.

Re: How to burn or crack protected WMA files?

Hey Joe
How do you choose the next batch to import? When I open the import screen I browse over to "my documents-my music" then under my music is everything from Napster (I think) but I can't highlight large sections at a time. I can either click open in which case it starts importing everything including the previously converted tracks or I can select one song. It would be a real pain to select one song over and over. Any tips?

Downloded a program called MP3Test. Tested the files and looks like I'm getting true MP3's out. In the window of the test program my files show up as .mp3.mp3. Wonder if they were .wma.mp3 before I made the change. Could my display properties be screwy somehow?

Re: How to burn or crack protected WMA files?

Actually it won't even let me select just one song. Even if I highlight one song it goes ahead and tries importing everything from that folder. Should I make seperate folders? That might be the best way.

Um actually Joe's post to this thread asking about DVDs was inappropriate. ZeroSignal was right in calling him out.

#1- This thread is about Napster and burning WMA files

#2- This Forum category is: "In this forum you can discuss various subjects with respect to audio related software and hardware."

There are other forums for DVD related chat, we shouldn't clutter this forum (or more importantly this post) with off-topic material.

Re: How to burn or crack protected WMA files?

tried that. didn't work. Actually it was in this thread that i first earned that you could highlight the first and last of a group using shift and get the whole group. I've always pressed ctrl and highlighted each item (which is a real bitch for large lists). Anyway it won't work here.

Re: How to burn or crack protected WMA files?

oh and by the way skidmark, it was a simple question i asked about the dvd-r. and i figured i could get a quick response without the board being cluttered. and honetly the way zero signal addresed the question was totaly uncalled for. Sorry, but this thread isn't really an appropriate place for simple things like that. Try the Newbie Forum.if i recall corrrectly. so therefore ZERO SIGNAL was being an asshole. plain and simple. so all i gotta say is fuck you zero signal

Re: How to burn or crack protected WMA files?

I'm still using the trial version. Joe are you using the trial or gold version?

I figured there was no need to upgrade or hack the upgrade since I'll be done with the program (my Napster free trial will expire) before the trial version expires.

Re: How to burn or crack protected WMA files?

I'm creating smaller subfolders for each letter of the alphabet and importing them in (a pain but more than worth it for 5700 free songs!!!!!)

Delete the files you've "converted", then do a new batch. This way you're always importing the entire Folder to the playlist. If you want to download while converting, right-click in the folder and select > new > folder, then name it something you can easily remember. Then set Napster options (file > options) to download to the "new" Folder.

This is one sweet deal! I've got everything working now using the Winamp > Stacker > Lame route. Don't know how many songs I'll get during the trial period and might go another month or two under "subscription" status. Figure we better go as hard as we can before this hole gets "closed".

Now if we could get the process to go 2X, 4X, 8X, 16X.....guess I'm really dreaming now?

Holy shit dude.

A.) Speak English.
B.) Don't ask the same pointless question 8 times.
C.) Don't use bold, caps, and underlines to try to get people's attention. It's annoying.

To answer your question though, somebody posted a link to a crack for Virtuosa a few pages back. Personally I think the player is hideous and I would not use it for anything besides doing conversion.

tah- a 4 minute song takes 20-25 sec. to convert using the Virtuosa method.

Re: How to burn or crack protected WMA files?

ok here is my 2 cents
1. To select all...hit Cntrl A after you select 1 file. it will highlight them all.
2. Get rid of the napster files after you use them (through napster) dont delete them from your hd thru windows explorer. otherwise napster will atke forever to load up, if it has to check licenses for 50000 songs. lol
questions:
1. How many songs can you guys put into the virtuosa playlist fro conversion at one time? Seems like about 100 is my max. if i pick any more it frezzes up.
2. THE CRACK. I tried to run the crack (as i will be keeping napster around for a ;ittle while) and will need virtuosa for a month or 2. When i run the crack i select the virtuosa gold folder as it instructs, yet it gives me a "cant find checksum file".. any help?
