Help!!! All of a sudden my music on my computer sounds like the chipmunks

Hi guys all of a sudden all my music on my computer sounds like the chipmunks it has sped up and is driving me insane it was playing fine until i installed my ipod software.
I have used Windows Media player, VLC Media Player, and the Limewire player and all of them play the music sped up.
Can someone help me please.................

Hi tried taking off the ipod software, still didn't work, music playing fast and sounding like the chipmunks can anyone help. PLEASE...............

Have you tried a system restore (xp/Vista)? Pick a date before the problem , might have to try a couple of them. You will not lose any files.

Thanks tgidday i will get them to try that. By the way how could something like that happen all of a sudden, one day the music played perfect and the next day like the chipmunks. I will keep you informed on what develops, thanks once again

Creative products (Soundblaster/Audigy) have a special effects option, one of which is chipmunks. It's possible that option was selected.
