You're probably looking into the wrong place... Instead of Feurio CD Writer, choose the Feurio CD Manager icon. In there, you'll be able to organize your compilation.

Cheers!

Open CD-Manager, and in the standard layout (F2) drag and drop the songs from the left (source drive) to the right (in the desired project).

Always open the "More Details" view to choose if you want 1 WAV for all songs, or a WAV for every song or detect "linked" songs. (Disable kill digital silence).

And if you have a reader that shows C2 errors correctly check that option in Special Parameters. (Only "Report C2-errors").

Remember to choose "Do not insert pauses between tracks - round track markers" in the "Settings" of the project if you want no silences between tracks.

If you choose "read tracks linked" you'll be sure that the copy is like the original (no problem with pauses).

@Sorondil

use F1 for Feurio! online help

@minix

I prefer to choose " Minimal pauses - round track sizes up to multiples of the sector size " (#2)

And it's because of the following :

#1· Insert no pauses between the tracks - round track marks

In this mode Feurio! do not insert any pauses between the wave files, the wave files will be burned directly one after the other.
Unfortunately there is a little problem with it:
Due to the structure of the CD directory the start of a track always has to be a sector start. A CD-Audio sector contains 588 samples.
If you use wave files that do not contain a multiple of 588 samples the next starting position can not be set exactly. In this mode Feurio! sets the track mark to the nearest sector start, i. e. the start position will be shifted a maximum of 294 samples.
If you attach great importance to exact start positions, you have to choose the mode ”Minimum pauses - Fill up tracks to multiple of sector size”

#2· Minimum pauses - Fill up tracks to multiple of sector size
In this mode Feurio! inserts exactly as many null samples at the end of each wave file as are required to get a multiple of the CD sector size. If the used wave files already contain a multiple of the CD sector size, no additional null samples are added.

So, what do you say about this ?

Usually the wave files to burn are multiple of 588 samples because they are extracted from the CD, and the tracks are multiple of a CD-DA sector (588 samples).
In that case the result is the same wether you use one setting or another.

But if you edit the wave and change the length probably it's not multiple of 588 anymore.

In that case the first setting ("round track markers") will leave no gap between songs (which is what I usually want). The another setting will fill the sector with silence, so there will be little pauses between tracks.

This is one of the problems of Nero and others burning programs. In the case of Nero if the wave is not a multiple of 588 samples, it directly removes the music from the wave to make it multiple of 588 samples in order not to have gaps...
This stupid method is how Nero gets no gaps between tracks.

PS: And with Feurio once you set that option it converts in default (never have to change that evry time you make a compilation like Nero to set 0 second-pause)

Feurio...??

Hi..
I am new to music file copying/burning..

Presently using Nero 5.5.9/InCd 3.31 on a Plex 40x and Mitsumi 40x.

I copied a lot of files to my HD using Win Media Player in WinXP..

Nero does not allow me to copy these files (.wma) to a CD for playing in my car...

My question(s)...
Do I install this Feurio "patch" in the Nero folder...or is it a stand alone program.....or do I have to use Nero to burn the files to a CD.....or can Feurio do this as a stand alone.....

Will Feurio convert .wma to .mp3.....and which format is preferred when copying to a CD...say for playin in a car CD player.........
Or can Feurio "copy/burn" these .wma directly to a CD for car playing use..???
Thank You..sorry for the trivial questions...

John

Feurio is a stand alone program created by Jens Fangmeier several years ago.
I don't know what is the relationship between Ahead and Fangmeier now, but it's clear that they have colaborated in some things. (Nero used Feurio Cover Editor until version 5 I think, for example).

Feurio doesn't manages or burn wma files.
It only burns wave and MP3 files. (wma is a too closed format I guess).

I think Nero can do it directly (or at least with a plug in).
If you want to make it with Feurio you have to convert wma to WAV first. You can do it with dBpowerAMP Music Converter.

RD..

Thank You..

I went to the Nero site again...in my mind there seems to be several "options"....

Nero Mix.........Feurio.........MPEG-2/SVCD encoder..

I'm confused..

All I really want to to is "burn/copy....whatever" the present music ( which are .wma) files that I have on my HD to a playable CD for my car....

Question...which one of these options on the Nero site will do this...if any....

2nd....do I (should I) convert them to .mp3...

Thank You...sorry for the questions...

RD..

It worked just fine....just that is mixed up all the songs....didn't copy them in sequential tracks by the artist name.....not that it really matters...

I'll look at any parameters that I might have missed and see if it can copy in order..by artist name...

Thanx again...a B U N C H.....!!!!!!

You will likely have to drag them into the compilation in the order you want, (one by one). Nero does this with most files.
