Audio Discuss, EAC refusing to compress tracks (after ripping to wavs) at International Chat: Software related forum; does anyone know why eac will not compress my wavs - it says it is and brings up a lame ms dos prompt screen after every track but nothing is actually being compressed - just a folder full of wavs ?!?

Goto :

EAC -> Compression Options -> External Compression tab ->
check ( if it's unchecked )
Use External Program for Compression

Set all the parameters there accordingly.

If you don't have LAME encoder, here's the latest one ->
Lame 3.93.1

it could be your compression parameters that are not correct... anyway I think you should post a little more info, it's hard to figure out the problem with only a small amount of information given

does anyone know how i can post some print screen shots? i dont have any webspace (i think i may have but i dont know where it is or how to use it).
I will edit this post describing further details - i have a lot of Alevel course work to do for monday ...

Dunno ? Everything works just fine for me.

What's that in Additional command line options ? Take it away !

Have you tried it like this ? : Action -> Copy selected tracks -> Compressed

In the box marked Additional Command Line Options try modifying it to only --alt-preset standard and nothing else. Works for me.

Or having selected the track(s), simply hit Shift+F5 , as it's already programmed .
