Hello All .

I am in the process of setting up EAC for the first time
(hard to believe, I know...)

So I looked up a couple of sites under a general 'configure EAC' search to become familiar with the best way to configure it the first time out of the gate.

One site (The Essential Ripping Guide) recommended the user download and install the ASPI driver by VOB to 'prevent future problems'.

I try not to download/install ANY files unless I (basically) understand what it's doing and why, and a little red flag went off with this one .

To me, it looks like the site is a few years old, and I was wondering if newer versions of EAC have taken care of whatever problems caused the site to recommend the download and installation of this .exe file, if I was reading news that was simply old and outdated, as it looks like the site hasn't been updated very recently.

So, anybody who regularly uses EAC these days, do I install or ignore?

with XP and newer, no ASPI is needed.
