Dvd Audio / Video Hybrid

I have managed to create a hybrid disc which contains a mastered dvd audio at 96khz / 24 bit plus a dvd video part of a live recording

the dvd audio was created using discwelder chromium 2 and has it's own menu
and the dvd video has been made with dvd-lab pro

the thing is that even though in computer dvd players as windvd or powerdvd i have a choice which part to play in deck dvd players in some it plays the dvd-video part and in others it plays the dvd-audio part while they are sopposed to play both types

the main question is
a) is there a way to make transitional part in the dvd which would make it possible for the viewer to chooce what he wants to do through the disc
b) are there hidden options in deck dvd's that can be changed as to whether it treats hybrid dvds as audio or video

thanks in advance

I don't think this can work.

Re: Dvd Audio / Video Hybrid

Hmm very interesting

I've not tried to make playable DVD-Audio disks yet but certainly such high quality audio has got to be the way forward. HD/Blu-ray should allow 192KHz sound in the future.

I take it you've got stereo tracks and not 5.1 or beyond.

Not sure what WinDVD or PowerDVD can in fact play when it comes to audio. On the one hand these flash players have a tendency to neglect sound - if it makes a noise that's good enough. On the other, they may well be crippled in some way with high quality audio and only play stuff which has some encryption they recognise.

The industry does not want 96KHz 24 bit tracks floating round the Net.

For DRM wars see Wikipedia

Have you tried playing your disk with something like Sony Vegas? It may need to work in tandem with Sound Forge? Just an idea.

Can you post a screenshot of the files you have on the disk?
