Cutting .wav files

I have this huge chunk of 40 minutes .wav file which i would like to cut up into smaller pieces of 2 or 3 minutes. I've tried installing SoundForge v.7 but it doesn't seem to be compatible with my win98 operating system.

Is there any other good audio software out there that I could use? Thanks in advance!
