Can someone please help me out? I have an extensive collection of cd's. I want to be able to recognize the cd by it's cover on every folder I have created. Will the cover association get lost if I switch the external drive to another computer? I want to maintaine the JPG cover associated with each folder. Also, I have noticed that I have certain folders that have a cover attached to them, but when I go to the contents of the folder, the cover is not there, so where is the folder getting that particular cover from? I checked and it's not a hiden file, please help. Thanks.

If you put the album cover in a file called folder.jpg within the folder, then that cover will be shown on the folder icon in thumbnail mode in Explorer. You can make folder.jpg a hidden file if you want. This will work on any Windows XP computer you attach the drive to.

If you assign icons and/or folder images using the properties dialog in Explorer, the setting may not work if you connect the drive on another computer. Some settings are stored in a desktop.ini file in the folder but other settings are stored in the registry on the local computer.
