Re: Converting files TO .cda

Hi and Welcome!

.cda is not a real file, it is a kind of pseudo-file construcion to make audio tracks on a CD visible.

Just extract the audio from your video files and convert them to WAV (44,1 kHz, 16bit). Then burn these .WAV files as audio CD.

So if I have the files in .wav format they should play? Do I need anything specific to convert from .mp3 to .wav?

Yes, WAV is the equivalent to ".cda". Just create an audio CD with your CD burning software. Most softwares are able to convert MP3 to WAV or to create an audio CD from mp3 files directly. I don't know what happens if you want to make an audio CD from WAV and mp3 files. Never tried that.
You may try the free Burrrn for your discs.

Re: Converting files TO .cda

Most CD burning software will give you the options to burn an audio CD, a data CD, an image etc,
As mciahel suggests, just choose to burn an audio CD and it will play on a regular CD player.
Just be aware that cda allows 80 minutes of audio - whether you are starting with WAV or MP3 etc, it will always be 80 mins.

Have fun with the music
