Best way to clean car CD player?

My burned CDs are playing great at home and in portable CD playes now, but are skipping now and then on my car player.

What is the best way to clean it? (I'm hoping that is all it needs, it's a pretty good one that was in my sports car when I bought it and have no owner's manual for it)

Can anyone recommend something, please?

Only one recommended way to "clean" the deck without causing damage is to remove it from your car, remove the cover and use compressed air to blow out any debris. You can also try to clean the optics but this is not usually recommended by using the standard optic cleaning discs that can be safely used in tray loading home players. If you do remove the cover to clean your head unit, and want to give it a try, use a soft cotton swab and alcohol to try to clean the optics. I wouldn't recommend cleaning the optics unless it was a last resort.

Ditto. Completely removing the unit is the only way to get anything meaningful done because your player is now probably full of various particles. This is the only method that the "professionals" at the service centres use!
