| best software to convert audio files to MP3's? what is the best software - (easy to use and excellent quality) to convert plain audio files from a CD to Mp3's that I can make on another CD? can I use plextor to do this? I have nero 6 and roxio. But I don't know anything about them. how many songs of duration max - 6 minutes each will come in MP3 format in a CD? do I need audio cD's for this or Plain CD's will work? thank you. |

| Re: best software to convert audio files to MP3's? Wrong forum, but here's what I like: EAC to digitally extract the CD audio tracks. LAME to encode the MP3s from the PCM files. You should probably get a front-end (GUI) for LAME like BlueRazorLame. You can use your Plex CD or DVD/RW drive to extract the audio. Plain CD-Rs will work fine for data and audio CD projects. # of files that will fit on a CD depends on how much you compress them with LAME. Higher quality files take up more space. That's about it. Google around and you'll figure it out.
