Audio Discuss, audio cd skips at International Chat: Software related forum; I am getting skips using Nero - even if I reduce speed to 4x Is there any other free software that is better at producing skip free audio CDs - or any other advice about settings etc. Thanks

You'd better get a better writer or better discs.
What are you using?

Software shouldn't make a difference, but you can try Feurio if your drive is supported.

I have a LiteOn LTR 52246S and use Verbatim DataLifePlus CD-R 700MB 40x

Any suggestions ?

Verbatim SuperAzo are good discs, but maybe not very compatible with your player. Have you used any other CDRs that work with your player? Try them.

Probably, your player isn't good at reading CDRs.

Will try new software with existing setup and see what happens - are there any settings I should use and what speed ?

There's no setting to try.
It all depends on writer.

Speed? You'll have to try it. I'd go with 8x or 16x.
