Re: 2.0 speakers

Hi and Welcome!

why not getting a used stereo amplifier and full size speakers? I seriously doubt, any computer speaker set will beat this

Re: 2.0 speakers

In a 2.0 set, you cannot beat size.

Might be worth looking at 2.1 instead, doing the bass from a seperate box that can be parked to one side or below, means the speakers that provide stereo imaging can be smaller and easier to place.

2.1 generally works from stereo input, with the bass channel being split by the speaker amplifier box - generally this will be the bass unit, and often the volume control as well, though that makes it awkward to hide away.

Re: 2.0 speakers

i dont have space for a woofer and also it leads to all kinds of comlex wired connections so i'll better stick to 2.0 speakers.
kindly suggest some nice ones.

I'm in the same situation (small flat with paper thin walls!) and bought a pair of Altec Lansing 2.1 speakers. Really nice sound for my needs.

Edit: Oh, I see you're determined to stick with 2.0. Shame....all the 2.0 speakers I ever had were abysmal sounding.

Re: 2.0 speakers

Rocky - if you're still around... You might try a pair of Logitech X-140 speakers. Can buy them in retail B+M stores for about the same as Newegg's delivered price. Check out the reviews.

Basically, they give very realistic mids and acceptable highs/lows. Bass is decent and accurate without artificial "boominess". I'm very satisfied with the pair I bought a week ago.

Re: 2.0 speakers

^ these^ are 1 way speakers no matter the reviews but i guess its hard to suggest anything good for under 50. M-audio monitors sound decent but are too expensive.
