[ATAPI]How to retrieve pre-gap and post-gap length for a track?

I am currently develop ATAPI host driver for embedded decoding system.
Some badly built VCD doesn't have a file system, so I need to analyse the index inside tracks to know where the real useful data begin and end, thus I want to know if there is an ATAPI packet command that will retrieve the pre-gap/post-gap information, or the index information inside a track.
Please help me on this point.

Afaik, the only way to get index positions is by reading the Q subchannel of each sector.
