Write error

Im currently using Nero 8.2.8.0 Micro. This is the first time in using a Micro version of Nero, to avoid the extra stuff I dont want, but every time I use it, im getting a write error, and I cant seem to use those dics later.

How can I fix this?

Re: Write error

Hello -nobody-, welcome to CDF

Does Nero Micro offer the chance to save an error log when a burn fails?

If so, can you post the log here - it'll help us see where in the burn things are going wrong, and why.

Re: Write error

Where can I check about the logs? Ive scanned though the Menus and didnt find something like that.

I heard that Nero Micro is basically Nero without the extra software. Does it make a difference?

If it does, then which Nero version should I choose, since I dont want too much extra stuff.

Re: Write error

You can chose what to install during the initial installation. Just chose custom installation.

Re: Write error

I heard that you cant remove all the extra software, so I went for Micro, all I need is the burning software, so if it possible to remove everything else, ill revert back to the original Nero. And hopefully, that'll solve the problem.

Re: Write error

Yeah, you can basically uncheck everything except the Burning ROM portion if you do a custom install.

At least the regular Nero should offer you to save an error log if a burn fails

If you only need to burn use Imgburn, forget nero altogether.

Re: Write error

After trying out different softwares, I noticed that:

Nero Burning Rom burns less than 10% and shows that error that I posted earlier.

Nero StartSmart burns more than 90% and says Write errorG: tsstcorp/dvdw sh-s182f.

ImgBurn burns upto 75% and just stalls there.

Tried to burn flv files.

Re: Write error

What type of blank media are you using?

Do you have an extra burner you could swap out with that one?

Re: Write error

It's possible your burner is on it's way out. Do you have a friend that has an external burner you could borrow in an attempt to isolate the problem?

If so, i'd give that a shot.

Re: Write error

Honestly...it sounds like your burner has given/is giving up the ghost. Thus the recommendation of an alternate burner.

Re: Write error

I asked my friend regarding my problem, and he told me to burn in safe mode, not sure if it would make a difference, I burned a Sony DVD-R in safe mode and it completed successfully.

Does burning in safe mode make a difference or was it the change in media?
