Hi, First I would like to thank all the Moderators for giving their time to help us needy wannabe DvDers! I'm new to biz but pretty computer savey for what its worth.
I just brought home Nero 6.6.0.3 and I'm finding that INCD and all the Nero software tends to lock up in one way or another. Plenty of coasters here! You should know that the first 2 .avi's I burned, I burned with Nero Express and without a hitch? Since then it's been a mess. I've even tried burning the same 2 files with no success? I tried the first profile given for 5.5 - 6 and it worked beautifully, It burned a large .avi file in about one minute!!!! But the disc doesn't work in my home DVD player - it works on my computer though?
I'll try the next profile and get back to you.
My question to you would be - Are there known problems with Windows XP SP2 and the very latest version of Nero, Nero Express and INCD?
I've used the clean tool and the clean registry tool manually went to explorer and deleted everything left associated with nero, Re-installed a fresh copy and BAM! LOCK-UP???? Even with Showtime. Just in case - Here's my Info-Tool report.

I wanted to see if someone can help me burn more then one DVD formated file on one DVD Disk using NEROVISION. I start and do everything right, create a menu, but can only play the file back on that computer where I burned it, and only using the NERO Showtime. Please help...

Burned DVD OK with Nero 6.6.0.1 - DVD played OK in computer but won't play on DVD player?

I'd also really appreciate an update to the "BLANK DVD NERO.nrc" file for 6.6.0.x.

I know you can just use the compilation method, but I got so used to my previous routine. Also, doing a DVD-Video compilation somehow really limits the label length...like below what a lot of pressed discs are.

I am new in DVD buring & I got my Sony DRU - 710A with Nero 6.x (win XP SP2). When I try to burn the movie with Nero at final stage I am getting "PMA update failure" error message... I am using Maxell DVD-R of 8x. Pls suggest how to resolve this problem.

Note: Attached is the log file ith error msg at the last few lines of the file.

The error is usually caused by media, the discs you are using are manufactured by MXL RG. Here is a list of media you can try TDK, Fuji, Verbatium or Taiyo Yuden.

maybe tried burn slower rate. Instead of 8x tried 2x, slower the better. Good luck

Instead of giving us Nero templates to download, why doesn't somebody just give us the raw Nero settings to use?

I'm running Nero 6.6.0.6 and after downloading and examining the template files, here's what the Nero setting screens looked like:

ISO TAB

File name length (ISO): Max. of 11 = 8 + 3 (Level 1)
Character set (ISO): ISO 9660 (standard ISO CD-ROM)
No restrictions.

UDF TAB
--------
UDF partition type: Physical partition (grayed out)
File system version: UDF 1.02 (grayed out)
CHECKED = Force DVD-Video compatibility (required for Xbox TM)

After using these settings to try to burn a DVD-Video disc, the DVD wouldn't play in my Pioneer DVD-Player or my Xbox. Weird. If I use the DVD-Video only settings then the DVD won't work in my Xbox.

YET... if I use the CopyToDVD program to burn the DVD (same files, same burner, same media), it works in EVERYTHING... including my Pioneer and Xbox.

What gives? Is there anything wrong with the Nero settings above? (yes, I even tried turing off Xbox compatibility mode). Is CopyToDVD superior to Nero at burning DVD-Video discs? I'm starting to loose faith in Nero... ;(

With "there are no such templates" i meant "there are no settings/profiles/however you call it that could make sure that your discs become compliant"

When making a DVD Video Disk using NeroVision Express - It worked i.e. it plays on my DVD Player but on the very first menu screen, does anyone know how to make the Text denoting the Menu Chapters any bigger. I can change the Font colour, and type but not the size??? I've downloaded all the templates.
