Playback problem with .Avi file burned by Nero

Hi all, apologies in advance if this is in the wrong (sub)forum.

I've got a 700Mb .avi file that plays back perfectly on my pc, but after burning to DVDRW with Nero, the picture seems jerky on my tv. I've placed other .avi's on the same disk with Nero, they all play back on the tv with perfect smoothness.

Any idea what I can to to remedy?

Thanks,

Jaybee.

So what's different about this particular AVI file?

Try and identify if it's PAL or NTSC or using a different codec to the others. Gspot is a good app for identifying the video attributes.

Done and run, but I'm not familar enough with these attributes to identify if something's wrong!

No conversion, just used Nero for the burn.

it is a qpel factor problem, have u checked the original avi file with gspot and checked to see what codec it is using. I know from experience that certain SAP have a problem with the latest XVID codecs! If you google this u will find a lot more advice, it is a common problem!

Thanks, but what's a 'Qpel factor'?

Not sure how to tell which codec is being used for the video (which is an xvid) but here's the readout after I rendered with Gspot:

(S) --> AVI Splitter --> DivX Decoder Filter --> Unspecified VFW codec --> (R)
