Nero Vision Express: No sound from .nrg file I just burned a movie into Nero DVD Image file from AVI file and checked the contents using Nero ImageDrive. I could see the movie but lost sound. Anyway, I burned the DVD and played it on my computer. Still no sound. However, when I play it from Standalone player everthing looks fine. I can hear sound from the original AVI file. Anybody had the similar problem?

Re: Nero Vision Express: No sound from .nrg file I do have exactly the same problem but only with a particular AVI movie. In other words I have been able to recode and burn other AVI movies with Nero Vision Express 2 without any problems. However, I have tried 3 times to burn this particular AVI moviein DVD format (I have a Pioneer 707 DVD Burner) and I get good Video but no Audio at all. Any Help will be greatly appreciated

Re: Nero Vision Express: No sound from .nrg file - Me too I too have an issue with no sound in Nero Vision 3 (Nero 6 Reloaded full suite). I capture my video using a wintv pvr350 card which records straight to mpeg2 at dvd hq or lp quality. I can play back the mpeg2 file no problem. I can also import the mpeg2 file into Nero Vision 3 and edit/cut the file and still hear sound, even in the preview mode. Here's the problem. If I edit/cut the video and do not play with the sound levels, then transcode the file straight to disk or transcode it to a video_ts folder on the hard drive, then I get sound on the final output no problems. If I adjust any part of the sound level whilst I am editing the video, I get full sound in the preview mode, BUT after transcoding I either get no sound at all, or I get no sound after the first "cut" on each title. This happens regardless of whether I output to a video_ts folder or directly to a dvd. I also notice that when I import the mpeg2 file into Nero Vision 3 the sound level is automatically set at 33%, which is quite low, previous version always left this at 100%. Putting this back to 100% results in a comp-lete loss of sound on the final transcode. The original mpeg2 file has mpeg1 layer 2 sound encoding (straight stereo not dolby) so I don't think it is an ac3 issue. My motherboard has a Realtek hi definition audio solution on-board and uses an nforce chipset, I wonder if you guys are using similar hardware and whether this may be contributing to this problem. Sorry for the long post...

Re: Nero Vision Express: No sound from .nrg file - Me too Just an update to my last post guys. Seems the problem I am having IS with ac3 encoding (gave myself a clue when I was writing it.) I noticed that I had left the audio encoding on automatic, as soon as I switched it to "Stereo" mode then all of the sound came back after the final transcode, even after I had changed the audio levels back to 100% when I edited the original file. Maybe this is of some help to you, maybe not, but it certainly narrows the problem area down to the ac3 area. Unfortunately I cannot sample straight into ac3 on my pc so I cannot experiment further, or determine if it is a Nero encoding error or whether it is a codec error. Hope this is of help to some of you. Regards NeosApprentice

Re: Nero Vision Express: No sound from .nrg file I am a real newbie at this as well as being not a young person, so please be patient. I am trying to make a compilation DVD from a number of short movies recorded on mini-DVDs using a Sony Handy-cam (the mini-DVDs are all finalised). I use Nero-vision Express 3. This is the procedure I go through. 1. Drag and drop all of the VOB files from all of the mini-DVDs into folders on the desktop. 2. Open NVE3. 3. Click "Add video files". 4. Drag and drop the .VOB files from the desktop folders into the NVE3 working area. 5. Nero transcodes all the videos. 6. Create a menu. 7. Burn the DVD. Everything seems to work fine, the DVD menus and videos play perfectly in both the computer and the DVD player, BUT - NO SOUND. The .VOB files on the desktop definitely have sound (I double click them and they play using PowerDVD) but the transcoded ones recorded on the DVD I have burned have no sound whatsoever. It there something simple I am doing/not doing which could be causing this? My computer is a P4 2.6GHZ with 1GB memory and 160GB HDD. I'm not sure which revision of NVE3 I am using (don't know how to find that out) but it came as part of Nero Express 6 (version 6.6.0.13 bundled) which came with my Gigabyte Technology DVD burner.

| Re: Nero Vision Express: No sound from .nrg file Hello Samrtcooky, Did you get any response for your problem? I am also sailing in the same boat !! Looking for a solution. It is stupid to burn those 30 minutes DVD (1.2GB) to 4.7GB regular DVDs. Please let me know if you have found any solution.. Thanks.. Quote:
