Nero Verify Problem and Interesting Observation.

Hi All,
this is my first post so thanks to the many people here who have helped me solve countless problems over the years.

I have been having a Nero problem [used Nero 6, Nero express and Nero 7].

Basically the DVD burns fine but the verification fails.

I thought this must have been the media I used. So I bought some Verbatim 8X -R, Some Ritek 8x -R and TDK 16X +R. All had the same problem. i have a pioneer dvr-108 and DVR-106D. All had the same problem burning this particular data [some backup ISO images of games and applications]. I even tried some TDK and Sony DVD+RWs.

I tried making an image first then burning but that didnt work either.

I then thought to compare the image to the original files and using CDCheck i found there were differences between the image and the original files.

The DVDs [about 10 now] seems to work fine. I can mount the images from the DVD and copy all the files to my hard drive. So I am wondering if there is a problem at all?

Is it OK to fail Nero verification if the files still work? Or am I awaiting disaster?

What is the best way to tell if my files are correctly burnt to DVD?

And any idea why CDCheck would report the difference between the image file and the originals? [note I also made an ISO using MagicISO]

Maybe CDCheck is wrong?

Thanks for any suggestions or ideas.

Re: Nero Verify Problem and Interesting Observation.

Interestingly I am having a wierd problem with nero file verification and DVD shrink. specifically.

1.A DVD copied with DVD shrink burned by DVD shrink copies fine. DVD shrink does no verification but DVD seems ok.

2.A DVD burned directly with Nero using the files left over from DVD shrink
afetr burning a dVD in DVD shrink above verify fine

3.A DVD copied onto the harddrive without burning a DVD and then using nero to burn a DVD outside of DVDshrink without first having used DVDshrink to burn a DVD will result in a DVD with verification errors.

4. Authoring a DVD and burning the resulting DVD using nero works fine as well as just plain copying files onto a disk from the hard drive. No file verification problems have occured.

Either I got bad media and weird luck, my drive is dying wich would be strange since it is new, or i found a weirdness.

I would love to know why these things are happening. I am using TDK+Rs a BENQ drive and nero 6 6 0 18. IF you know email me at
darkstar-1@comcast.net

Thanks
