yeah, how do you do it for nero 6 ?
has anyone got it to work on nero 6 - i cant find the dword that was there last time (ShowSingleRecorderSpeed)

For Nero 6 follow this steps.

1. Start-> Run-> type Regedit

2. Go to "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ahead\Nero - Burning Rom\Recorder"

3. Go to Edit-> New -> DWORD Value

4. Rename "New Value #1" to "ShowSingleRecorderSpeed"

5. Click on it and select "Modify"

6. Now set the value 0 to 1

You're done

It worked for me.

try burning a DVD at 4x and wonder why it still takes 27min, it'll show 4x all the time but it really is 2x

19 is now running perfectly with my Plextor 708A and most importantly Memorex 4X DVD+R's can be burned at 8X. I just burned a near 4GB movie in just over 6 minutes.

I've seen this works not completely. I mean that when Nero calculates speed and entire mb of files it seems to surpass the selected speed, then shows a average speeds and finally the selected speed throughout the rest of recording

Actually I'm having a problem with my dvd writer now. I've just bought a NEC ND 2500A and it was installed perfectly but it just burns at 4x using nero 6.3.1.6 which is not the max speed of 8x.
Can you tell me what could be my problem?

yufengtan this is not the correct place to ask this question. I suggest making a new thread in the NEC forum.

*Hint* Use media qualified for 8x burning - or use TY which will burn @8x even if certified upt to 4x.

Works in Nero 6.3.1.10, that was about the only feature I really liked with Roxio, it shows the write speed by default and now I have just added that feature to Nero.

This is my thought about 12x, 16x and DL burners: Blu-ray burners are around the corner might was well wait that to come out instead of wasting money on expensive 16x and DL media that is limitedly available.
