| Hello! I tried it with 5.5.4.2 Updated to 5.5.9.10.0 Tried again, same effect I can chnage the key from 0 to 1, when i start nero, it´s still 1. But when i start a burn process, it changes from 1 to 0. If i change the key, when nero started, it takes no effect, Nero still show the default; when i start a burn-process, the key stays, but->no effect. If I start Nero again and start a burn-process-> changed again from 1 to 0 It´s strange, before i install my WinXP new, it worked

I had the same thing a long while back, and as i recall, i had to update Nero in increments to get it working again. Ala- 5.5.7.8 to 5.5.8.0 to 5.5.8.2, etc, etc. Perhaps one of those versions has the magic key?

I had the problem too, until!!! PEOPLE!!! *PLEASE* make sure you are in the *CURRENT_USER* branch of the registry, and NOT the *LOCAL_MACHINE*! I just got bit by that oversight, and I consider myself pretty computer savvy... I was so used to editing SOFTWARE keys under LOCAL_MACHINE that I completely blanked out gamefreak's statements about CURRENT_USER. It might not fix everyone's problem, but check that you're doing it correctly first. Heh, lesson learned for me! -keith

16703, now 16704 Views on this one little o'l thread. I actually think that changing this setting, SLOWS DOWN THE BURNING JOB and can (did more than once - like 16 times) corrupt the process by reporting the speed of each file - folder it copied. Do some of your own tests and prove me wrong. Now it reads 48x (7.200 KB/s) or what ever it auto detects - and as if I had nothing better to do than watch the speed. ![]() There must be a Moderator who is kind and will put an end to this missery.

This worked great for me... I was also looking around on some of the other registers and found one called "RawWriting" under my drive which I tried switching it to 1. I have been having trouble copying a couple cds that were copy protected and switching this register to 1 seemed to let the drive copy it just fine. A pleasant surprise. Now I don't need to buy Clone CD... just yet anyway.
