Thanks for laying out your method of testing, I'll do the test tommorrow. Makes me wish I had some cheap disposable media to play with, instead of exclusively TY's. Yes, I'm a cheapskate!

LOL, I thought people might misconstrue that phrase at the time, it was poorly articulated, though I did put "the experienced OR mods/admins", I wasn't implying that mods/admins are the only people qualified as "experienced".
Ι nkow, i was just joking - plus i didnt see the OR

No i havent tried pcbugfixer's tests and didnt say i did. I had no reason to since i never experienced a problem with it - will do the tests when/if i do. Feel free to test it out yourself and report back the findings

Strange that I couldn't find any links to download previous versions, which are free, in spite of prior assurances from the X-Setup creators that the 6.x versions would remain available after 7.0 was released!
Found Older X-Setup Pro v6.6 [4.54 MB, freeware for personal use] at X-Setup site http://www.x-setup.net/downloads/XSP...P-Setup-EN.zip

I downloaded it but but havent installed it yet. Got the info from http://www.mdgx.com/xset.htm#XG

Case scenario 1 - physical job relationship as means of logic understanding.
You drive a car with automatic gear shift from Sydney to Melbourne (1000 km) with lots of Hills = should be no problem as the Auto Drive will do all the work and you just make sure you don't Speed.

Case Scenario 2 - The automatic breaks down and you now have to manually use the T bar to change gears - This will add at least 8000 extra tasks to your driving job and it will obviously take you longer to get there.

So, CD burning on Automatic or Manual - is the next question.
Why don't you put it simpler to compare the speed report on the burning with the tachometer on the car... a car without tachometer does not perform faster!

It is correct in English to refer to people as masculine unless one knows otherwise.

What gets me are those ignorant, sad gits who don't like the word 'manager' as they think it is gender-related.

An analogy is one, where we relate to an opposite (practical or common) experience which most can relate to and thus give understanding to the issue at hand.

Unfortunately a “tachometer on the car” is attached to a mechanical device and is itself also a mechanical device http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tachometer whereas the functions of the “speed measuring utility” is a Software Program and not a mechanical device.

The revolutions of the CD are also related (turned into) PC (computer code) which uses a software program to measure and or report them.

Unfortunately, a mechanical device is not a computer software program, thus your “Tachometer” may not be a good comparison in this case.

Hence you have Binary codes measuring and reporting which takes up “CPU Usage”

OK, so while you do your speed measuring burning with and without using the utility, press “Ctrl” + “Alt” + “Del” then click on the “Performance tab and look at your CPU Usage in both cases of testing methods 1. Using the speed test utility, and 2. Not using the speed test utility. – Also, you may want to look at the “Processes” which obviously would load the additional program usage (add to the work load of the CPU and System)

Like having an extra load on or in the car, which makes the motor use more fuel and slows it down.
