Nero/system crashes

Hi folks, new to the forum and need your help!

Sometimes when im burning avis to dvd using nero the laptop turns itselfs off, this in itself is very frustrating but when i restart the computer the 4.7GB or whatever has been deducted from my hard drive with no sign of any video files in the destination folder (my dvds for example when im writing to the hard disk). The files are obviously somewhere on my drive but i dont know where? Can anyone help me and point me to where they will be hiding?

Thanks for any help.

Just use the search feature for .avi files.

Re: Nero/system crashes

I've tried that but i only get as far as the folder with the sub folders: Desktop, shared documents, favourites, start menu and i don't know what to do after that?

Tried searchin for vob (as part of the file name?) and nothing came up either!

I think im out my depth here, haha!

Re: Nero/system crashes

application data is a hidden folder

go to tools/folder options

and change to show hidden folders/files

Re: Nero/system crashes

ahead is the name for my nero folder

all this varies with what version of nero you are using, and there are a lot of them

Re: Nero/system crashes

using search I found 5 folders called ahead on my computer

and then could access their size from the search window on the right

this is not that hard to do with a little effort mate

the real problem is keeping nero vision from crashing
