| Nero DVD speed.. how to read quality. Im not used to checking how clean my burns are but with my newer DVD's its been a pain backing them up so im trying to see wich method is turning out the best results. Could someome please explain how to read the quality graph on Nero? Maybe give me an example of a good scan and a bad one? Thank you in advance! |

| Re: Nero DVD speed.. how to read quality. Just run Nero CD-DVD Speed. If your disc scans 100% without any Damaged or Bad errors then your burn was sucessful.

| Re: Nero DVD speed.. how to read quality. Ive been running some TDK media I got and was getting like 50% quality on my scans.. I slowed it down to an 8X burn from 16X and now its in the 90s. I assume that was the issue. I scanned some TY media I burned a while back on my 3520A drive I used to have an had 99% quality. I guess good media is the key to my issues. |

| Re: Nero DVD speed.. how to read quality. Umm, you have Nero CD-DVD Speed don't you? If you do then it's impossible to not know how it looks like cause there's a legend on the right side that shows you what the different colours mean. Green means it's good, yellow means it's damaged and red means it's bad. Why don't you just run Nero CD-DVD Speed and figure it out for yourself.

| Re: Nero DVD speed.. how to read quality. @Copywrite What burner do you have? Some burners can do quality scans in CD-DVD Speed...hop over to the Blank Media forum (specifically, the Media Testing sub-forum) - there's a whole thread on how to interpret quality scans etc. Anything you're unsure of, ask the folk in Blank Media...they're well up to speed on quality scanning. ![]()

sounds like you've got the hang of it based on this post! the higher the better. good media = better burns. poor media will sometimes benefit from slowing down the burn speed. up to date firmware benefits all aspects of burning. red is bad. 0% is bad. the lower the spikes in teh graph the better...there's not much to it. for in-depth, technical information on what the graphs mean check out the "media testing" subforum in the blank media forum. there are stickies about this exact topic. | |
